BB CAMP DOES DAY CAMP!!!!!
Summer is right around the corner, and it's time to consider some incredible programming options for your child.
Once again BB Camp will be offering its day camp program called Playmore Day Camp Adventure. The day camp is a great way to put some excitement into a long summer, offering young people a chance to explore new activities, acquire new skills, pursue current interests and make new friends close to home! The program is designed for parents looking for an outdoor camping program for their children between 4 - 12 years of age in an environment that is safe, well supervised and enjoyable. There are six one week sessions with the flexibility of participating in either a three day or five day program.
BB Camp is located 10 km south of Kenora on beautiful Lake of the Woods and is a welcoming environment fostering the growth and development of each of its campers. Now in its 55th year on Town Island, BB Camp has been a prominent fixture on Lake of the Woods, providing residential camping within a wilderness setting each summer to over 300 youth between the ages eight to 16.
Playmore Day Camp Adventure offers ideal opportunities for both cottage owners and Kenora residents looking at short term camping activities. Playmore Day Camp Adventure is geared to children who get to experience camp and still return home each evening! They have the best of both worlds - the camp community which is built exclusively for kids and their own home which provides the security they need and quality time in the summer with their families.
The Camp will pick up campers from the Main Street Dock each morning at 8:50 am and transport campers to Town Island (a ten minute boat ride) for a day of fun-filled activities. The Camp boat will return to Kenora daily at 4:00 pm. As an added convenience, cottage owners can drop their child off and pick up directly at the campsite. Day camp hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with extended hours to accommodate working adults. These hours are 8:30 to 9:00am (free of charge) and 4:00 to 5:00 pm. (a small additional charge for after care extended hours).
Campers bring their own bag lunch - remember BB Camp maintains a fish free / peanut free campsite. An afternoon snack is provided daily to each day camper.
The success of our campers is centered on our age-specific groups, excellent staff, and our wide variety of activities. At Playmore Day Camp Adventure we provide traditional camp activities like swimming, arts & crafts, music, archery, canoeing, kayaking, ropes course, sports, games, and group initiative activities. We also offer several camp activity surprises such as Friday lunch cook-outs and occasional outings throughout the summer. Through hands-on activities, careful supervision and low counselor to camper ratios Playmore Day Camp Adventure builds self-esteem, provides an excellent opportunity for individual growth and maturity and offers a safe and enjoyable summer alternative for children.
